If you live far from the Costa del Sol and need someone to handle any procedure with the town hall on your behalf, there is a simple, fast, and free solution to grant a power of attorney to a representative before the Spanish administration.

APODERA - ADMINISTRATIVE POWER OF ATTORNEY

This registration is done through the portal: https://apodera.redsara.es/ciudadano/

Apodera is the Electronic Register of Powers of Attorney of the General State Administration. It allows interested parties to authorize individuals or legal entities to act on their behalf in relations with Public Administrations.

Both the owner and the representative must have an electronic certificate to complete the power of attorney in three simple steps:

·        Select the type of power of attorney you wish to grant.

·        Fill out the form by entering the details and specifying the validity period of the power of attorney.

·        Sign the power of attorney form using a digital certificate.

If you do not have an electronic certificate to communicate with the Spanish administration, I invite you to read this article on my blog to apply for it: https://www.alexandrestrumeyer-realestatemarbella.com/es/post/a-qu%C3%A9-sirve-el-certificado-digital
